How the Spin the Wheel works
The winning slice is chosen first, using the same unbiased random integer draw as every other Xrandom tool — the spinning animation is a visual reveal of an already-fair result, not a physics simulation, which guarantees every option has an exactly equal chance regardless of slice size or spin speed.
The wheel is drawn live as an SVG with one colored slice per option, sized equally regardless of text length, and the animation always adds a few extra full rotations before easing to a stop on the predetermined winner for a satisfying, suspenseful spin.
How to use it
Frequently asked questions
Are smaller-looking slices less likely to win?
No — every slice is exactly the same angular size (360° divided by your option count), so all options are always equally likely regardless of how the labels look.
How many options can I add?
There's no hard cap, but wheels with more than 10-12 options get visually crowded; for a large list, consider the List Randomizer instead.
Can I use this to assign chores or turns?
Yes, this is a great fit for any single-winner decision from a short list of options.
