How the Dice Roller works
Physical dice can be subtly biased by manufacturing tolerances, wear, or an uneven surface — this digital roller removes all of that, generating each die's result independently from a cryptographically secure random source so every face has exactly a 1-in-N chance regardless of how many dice you roll or which side you pick.
It supports every standard polyhedral die used in tabletop gaming (d4 through d20) plus d100 for percentile systems, and lets you roll a whole pool at once — handy for damage rolls, stat generation, or any system that asks you to sum several dice together.
How to use it
Frequently asked questions
Is a virtual dice roll fair?
Yes — each roll uses the Web Crypto API's secure random source and unbiased range mapping, so every face is equally likely on every roll.
Can I roll dice with an unusual number of sides?
The presets cover the standard tabletop set; for a custom side count, use the Random Number Generator tool and set 1 as the minimum and your side count as the maximum.
Does the total account for modifiers?
The shown total is the raw sum of the dice rolled; add any flat modifiers from your game system afterward.
